Don’t miss Newell Pride Days

The Fond of Flyers will perform their rock/pop/grunge at Newell Pride Days. They are, Mike (Fonda) Tiedeman, Josh Stewart, Jesse Wipperling and Josh Nielsen.

The Newell Pride Days celebration is back after last year’s pared down version, which consisted of the street dance and golf tournament.

The event takes place this weekend, kicking off Friday, Aug. 6 with a pool party from 8-10 p.m.

Brand new this year is a sidewalk chalk contest open to all ages Saturday from 12-3 p.m. It starts on the west side of the playground. All entries will be judged at 3 p.m.

Saturday’s lunch in the park served by Newell Fire Department will benefit Rod Johnson to help offset medical expenses.

And don’t miss the parade Saturday at 10 a.m. There promises to be much candy thrown.

The donation was made in memory of Daryl’s mother Dorothy.
