Maggie Bloom fired a 47 to capture runner-up medalist honors as Alta-Aurelia finished second in a Twin Lakes Conference girls golf quadrangular last Thursday at Rolfe.

Pocahontas Area was first with a 204. Alta-Aurelia carded a 212. Storm Lake St. Mary’s was third with a 243 and West Bend-Mallard fourth with a 286.

Shea Lockin golfed a 54 for Alta-Aurelia. Chloe Elston shot a 55, Addy Fritz a 56 and Ella Nielsen had a 60.

Maddie Fiorendino had the low score for St. Mary’s with a 54. Natalie Green golfed a 61, Ellie Bacon a 63 and Sydney Hurd a 65. Emily Nothwehr stroked a 69 and Jenna Merten had a 72.

“The course in Rolfe presented some challenges: mature trees, narrow fairways and small greens,” St. Mary’s coach Lynn Hardt said. “It would be interesting to play the course again and see how the girls would improve their course management.”
