SL man arrested for sexual assault at Wal-Mart


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Sunday after he allegedly groped a female victim at the Storm Lake Wal-Mart.

At 2:13 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store in reference to an assault.

Police learned a male patron touched a female victim at the store inappropriately. The male fled from the store prior to the arrival of police.

Police and store security personnel identified the suspect as Levi Watts, 18. At 7 p.m. Sunday, an officer located Watts behind Hardees on Flindt Dr. and took him into custody. Watts was charged with assault booked into jail on a $300 bond.

 

Contempt of court arrest


Police arrested a Lakeside man Sunday on an outstanding charge for contempt of court. At 10:25 a.m. Sunday, an officer observed a wanted person in the 100 block of West Seventh Street. Police arrested Jaime Soria, 23, who was wanted out of Buena Vista County for contempt of court.

 

SL man arrested on barred while driving charge


Police arrested a Storm Lake man for driving while barred Sunday.

At 4:31 p.m. Sunday, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Seneca St. for a traffic violation.

Police allege the driver, William Reyes, 30, was driving while barred. Police arrested Reyes and charged him with driving while barred. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

 

Fight broken up


Police arrested two Storm Lake men Sunday after a fight erupted between the two.

At 8 p.m. Sunday, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to 204 Grand Ave. in reference to two males fighting.

Police intervened and subdued BJ John, 23, and Naylor Harris, 33. Harris and John were charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.  Harris was booked into the jail on a $300 bond and John was booked on a $1,000 bond. 

 

Man eludes, arrested


Police arrested a Laurens man Sunday morning after he attempted to elude officers.

At 2:38 a.m. Sunday, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle traveling westbound in the 200 block of West Seventh Street. Police allege the vehicle increased speed and came to a stop in the 500 block. The driver exited the vehicle to flee from officers.  Police subdued him a short distance from the vehicle.

Police identified the driver as Jeremy Fort, 26. He was charged with OWI, public intoxication, interference with official acts, speeding and no license.

He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
