Theft at Dyno’s warrants arrest of SL woman


Police arrested a Storm Lake woman Friday on for stealing $900 from Dynos last month.

At 4 p.m. Friday, police responded to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center to locate Kiyannah Jordan, 22, who was wanted on warrants charging her with three counts of fourth-degree theft.

The warrants allege that Jordan failed to make three night deposits in excess of $900 total while employed at Dynos in Storm Lake.

Jordan was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

 

SLPD charge SL man with tampering with records


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Saturday on an outstanding warrant asserting he tampered with records.

At 7:38 p.m. Saturday, police stopped Nicholas Senesoury, 22, in the 400 block of West Milwaukee Avenue for a traffic violation.

Police learned that Senesoury was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant charging him with contempt of court reference tampering with records.

Senesoury was arrested and booked into the county jail on a $500 bond.

 

Fight, drug paraphernalia, results in arrest of SL duo


Police arrested two Storm Lake residents Friday for fighting and violating a subsequent no-contact order resulting from the fight.

At 1:34 p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of East 6th Street in reference to a reported fight.

Police located Fernando Veliz, 20, and Jasmine Miles, 22, and determined that Veliz assaulted Miles after a verbal altercation.

Police arrested Veliz, charged him with domestic assault and held him without bond.  A no contact order was issued ordering the couple to not have contact with each other.

At 11:27 p.m. Friday, an officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of West 4th Street and Grand Avenue for a traffic violation.

Veliz and Miles were in the vehicle together with drug paraphernalia present.

Both Veliz and Miles were arrested and the vehicle was impounded. After attaining a search warrant, police seized two small bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.

Veliz was charged with violation of a no contact order and booked into the county jail where he was held without bond.

Miles was charged with aiding and abetting violation of a no contact order, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was booked into the county jail and held without bond.

 

Traffic stop, refusal to cooperate results in arrest


Police arrested a Storm Lake woman Saturday for not obeying instructions during a traffic stop.

At 6 a.m. Saturday, an officer stopped Nykia Kelley, 19, in the 400 block of Lake Ave. for a traffic violation.

Police allege that Kelley refused to cooperate with officer’s instructions during the stop.

Police arrested Kelley and charged her with interference with official acts.  Kelley was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond.

 

SL man charged with public intoxication, harassment


Police arrested a Storm Lake man for harassing a woman at an East 13th Street residence and driving while intoxicated.

At 7:51 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to 210 E. 13th St. #30 in reference to a harassment.

Police spoke with a female reporting party who alleged that Andrew Seward, 57, had made inappropriate sexual comments towards her earlier in the evening.

As police were on scene, Seward arrived and police allege he was intoxicated.

Police arrested Seward and charged him with his third offense for OWI and third-degree harassment.

He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,300 bond.

 

Schaller man charged with public intoxication


Police arrested a Schaller man Sunday for entering Ace Hardware and shouting at staff.

At 3:14 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the Ace Hardware Store on North Lake Avenue in reference to an intoxicated patron.

Police were advised that Randy Schneider, 48, allegedly entered the store, engaged in an argument with staff and was told to leave.

Police made contact with Schneider and allege he was intoxicated and in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Schneider was charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $600 bond.

 

SL man does not leave Mo’s, charged with trespassing, public intoxication


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Sunday for not leaving Mo’s Bar when asked by bar staff.

At 11:34 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to Mo’s at 707 Lake Ave. in reference to a disturbance.

Police were advised by bar staff that Daniel Hailemichael, 38, had allegedly engaged in an argument with staff after being told to leave and he refused to leave the bar.

Police arrested Hailemichael and charged him with criminal trespass and public intoxication.

He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $600 bond.

 

Storm Lake man charged with sexual assault


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Thursday for sexually assaulting a student in the Storm Lake High School parking lot while school was in session.

At 1:42 p.m. Thursday, police took a report of Jose Nunez Vera, 18, allegedly forcing sex on a female student in the parking lot of the high school.

Police arrested Nunez Vera on Friday morning and charged him with third-degree sexual abuse.

He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

 

SL man charged with driving while intoxicated


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Friday for leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated.  

At 1:42 a.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the intersection of Flindt Drive and Russell Street in reference to a hit and run accident.

The driver of one car advised that his 2007 Chevy Tahoe was struck from behind by a 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo. The two occupants in the striking vehicle allegedly exited their vehicle and fled from the scene on foot.

Police located Hadley Phillip, 22, the alleged driver of the striking vehicle at 20 South Windsor Circle.

Police found Phillip to be suffering from injuries related to the accident and he was subsequently transported to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

Police cited Phillip for driving while revoked, failure to have insurance – accident related, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to stop in a safe distance.

An additional charge of OWI is pending DCI lab results.

The 2007 Tahoe sustained approximately $8,000 in damage and the Monte Carlo sustained approximately $4,500 in damage.

 

Assault at SLMS leads to arrest of SL juvenile


Police arrested a Storm Lake juvenile Thursday for physically assaulting a student at Storm Lake Middle School.

At 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Storm Lake Police took a report at the Storm Lake Middle School in reference to an assault.

School staff advised police that a 13-year-old male had allegedly physically assaulted another student at the school.

Police charged the juvenile with assault.

He was processed and released to a parent pending a court date.

No injuries were reported.

 

Fight at SLMS results in arrest of two SL juveniles


Police arrested two Storm Lake juveniles Thursday for fighting at Storm Lake Middle School.

At 1:20 p.m. Thursday, police investigated a reported fight at the Storm Lake Middle School.

School staff advised police that two 13-year-old males of Storm Lake allegedly engaged in a physical altercation at the school.

Police charged both juveniles with disorderly conduct. Both were processed and released to a parent pending a court date.

No injuries were reported.

 

Thefts at SLMS warrants arrest of two SL juveniles


Police arrested two Storm Lake juveniles Thursday for stealing cash and electronics from locker rooms at the Storm Lake Middle School.

At 3:29 p.m. Thursday, police took a report of a theft at the Storm Lake Middle School. 

Police were advised by school staff that two females aged 12 and allegedly entered a locker room and stole cash and an IPod from other students.

Both juveniles were charged with fifth-degree theft.

They were both processed and released to a parent pending a court date.

The iPod was recovered by school authorities and returned to the victim.

 

Police find SL man charged of theft, contempt


Police arrested a Storm Lake man Thursday on an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree theft.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, an officer found a wanted person at 117 East 10th St.

Dallas Dirks, 20, was wanted on a warrant for contempt of court reference fourth-degree theft.

Dirks was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.

 

Violation of probation leads to arrest of Peterson man


Police arrested a Peterson man for violating federal probation.

At 6:40 p.m. Oct. 13, a Clay County deputy conducted a federal arrest warrant check on Patrick Steffens, 23. Steffens was transported to the Clay County Jail and was held for U.S. Federal Marshalls.

Steffens was charged with second-degree theft and possession of a stolen vehicle in June.
