Big morning fight in Alta leads to vehicle roll-over, raft of charges

Group cited with public intox, disorderly conduct

Several arrests have been made following a report of a fight at the Alta ball fields.

On Saturday at 10:47 a.m. the Buena Vista Communications Center received a report of several people fighting in the 900 block of Lake Street.

Following the fight, two vehicles left the scene. A short time later, one of the vehicles that left the scene rolled over near the intersection of 590th Street and 60th Avenue.

The other vehicle was located in Storm Lake by the Storm Lake Police Department (SLPD).

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. All other occupants of the two vehicles were detained and transported to the Buena Vista Sheriff’s Office.

The following charges were filed and all subjects were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail:

BJ John, 22, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct and public intoxication (second offense).

Kerry Kemelios, 24, of Lakeside — disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Hadley Phillip, 21, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Charles Edmund, 26, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Kevin Sonden, 26, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Makatozi Joab, 21, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct and public consumption.

Kerson Ehram, 22, of Lakeside — disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Goodwin Sonden, 21, of Storm Lake — disorderly conduct, public consumption, failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Storm Lake Police Department, Aurelia Police Department, Alta Fire Department and Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Ambulance.
