SL man arrested after assault

Police took a report in connection with a burglary and assault on Sunday at 6:24 p.m.

Police were told that at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, a man was sitting in his vehicle in the 800 block of Erie Street. He was approached by Luis Vincente, 21, of Storm Lake. Vincente began striking the man through his window in his face as he sat in his vehicle.

The victim fled the scene and believed the incident was over a disagreement over a woman. At 7:15 p.m. Sunday police located Vincente at 524 Oates St. where he was arrested without incident.

Vincente was charged with burglary and assault while participating in a felony. He was booked on a $10,000 bond.

The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.


Early man faces drug paraphernalia charges

A person was acting in a suspicious manner in the area of East Milwaukee Avenue and Geisinger Road on Sunday at 1:14 p.m.

Police made contact with Zach Nierling, 18, of Early and learned that Nierling had been involved in a verbal dispute with a former roommate.

Police determined that Nierling was allegedly in the possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the county jail on a $300 bond.


Woman reportedly hits man at SL motel

A disturbance was reported in the Super 8 at the intersection of Lake and Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday at 2:36 a.m.

Police were told that Nyamal Jock, 20, of Storm Lake allegedly physically assaulted the reporting party by hitting him. When a witness called police, Jock fled.

At 3:29 a.m. Sunday, police located Jock at 1420 North Seneca St. and arrested her.

Jock was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. She was booked into the  county jail on a $600 bond.

No injuries were reported.
