Peterson man charged with possession of a controlled substance

Ryan Holder, 29, of Peterson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance on Friday at 9:52 p.m.

A Clay County deputy pulled Holder over in the 1700 mile of Highway 10 for an equipment violation.

During the traffic stop the deputy located two small bags of a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana.

Holder was then placed under arrest. Holder was transported and booked into the Clay County Jail by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.


Woman charged with theft

On Saturday night at 7 p.m. Storm Lake Police were called to Walmart after a report of a theft.

Police were told that Walmart staff allegedly observed a Walmart McDonald’s employee steal a coat.

Police made contact with the suspect, Ghuel Schultz, 31, from Linn Grove.

Police recovered the stolen coat from Schultz and she was arrested and charged with theft.

She was booked on a $300 bond.


Man arrested at Tequila Latin Club

On Sunday morning at 2:30 a.m. police were conducting a bar check at Tequila Latin Club on East Railroad Street when police say patrons in the bar were consuming alcohol after licensed hours.

Police identified the person in charge as Freddy Hernandez, 36, of Storm Lake and charged him with allowing alcohol to be served after hours.

Hernandez was cited and released pending a court date.

A report will be filed with the Iowa Alcohol Beverage Control Office in connection with the incident.
