Van rolls, leaving third rider with severe injuries

Two men were killed and another was transferred to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City with critical injuries after a minivan lost control and started to roll Friday morning at 4:50 a.m.

The two men who died Friday were Ignacio Zuleta-Soto, 43, who was the driver, and Jeronimo Piox-Zuleta, 30, who was in the back seat.

The van was headed west on U.S. Highway 20 west of Jackson Ave. and west of Early.

Zuleta-Soto lost control and entered the median where the van started to roll.

A front seat passenger, Gabino Zuleta, 23, was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake and then to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City.  The seatbelt saved his life.

All three men are related.

All three men are from Guatemala and were living in Eagle Grove at the time of their accident.

They were headed to Sioux City for work as insulators on a construction site.
