Wanted man jailed

On June 8 at 1:09 p.m. Storm Lake police responded to 518 Lake Ave. to locate a wanted person.

On arrival, police located and arrested Dageo Jano, 31, of Storm Lake, who was wanted in connection with contempt of court and failure to pay fines.

Jano was booked into Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.


SL man wanted on theft charge arrested

Police located a wanted person at the 800 block of Otsego Street on June 9 at 2:51 a.m.

Police made contact and arrested Augustine Barrios Marin, 25, of Storm Lake, who was wanted on a warrant charging him with fifth-degree theft.

Marin was booked into the county jail on a $300 cash bond.


Contempt of court charge

Razelle Tabb, 28, of Riverdale, Ill., was arrested on Monday morning after police found he was wanted out of Cherokee County in reference to a contempt of court charge.

A Storm Lake police officer was patrolling Lake Avenue and Sixth Street at 1:44 a.m. when the officer encountered four people at the intersection.

After identifying Tabb, police arrested him and he was booked into the county jail awaiting transfer to Cherokee County.


Police subdue man with Taser

Police were sent to 1804 East Milwaukee Ave. in reference to domestic assault on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

On arrival police met with the victim in the parking lot who told police that her boyfriend, Jonathon Garcia, 30, of Storm Lake, had physically assaulted her.

Police entered the apartment, where they encountered Garcia. He refused to cooperate with the officer’s instructions while being placed under arrest. Police deployed a Taser and subdued Garcia with the Taser.

Police charged Garcia with domestic assault (third offense), a class D felony, and interference with official acts. He was booked into BV County Jail and held without bond.
