SLPD suspects her of car burglaries
Police filed additional charges against a Wall Lake woman Friday after finding she burglarized three parked cars on Michigan Street in Storm Lake.
Storm Lake Police were contacted by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office last Tuesday regarding a stolen vehicle stopped in Alta at around 7:50 a.m. Pratt, 19, of Wall Lake, was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.

Man found in Clay County with car taken from SL
Police arrested a Storm Lake man Saturday morning for stealing a car while intoxicated.
At 7:40 a.m. Saturday, a Clay County Deputy stopped John Dehler, 22, for a traffic violation and found he was intoxicated and stole the car from an East 5th Street owner.
The vehicle owner wasn’t aware the vehicle was missing, but said the keys were left in the ignition at the time of the theft.
Officers arrested Dehler and charged him with second degree theft.

Suspected in burglary spree
The Buena Vista County Sheriffs Office arrested a Wall Lake woman Tuesday morning in connection with a string of burglaries and a stolen car in South Sioux City, Neb.
At 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, a Buena Vista County deputy conducted a license plate check at Casey’s General Store in Alta and found that the vehicle was reported stolen out of South Sioux City Neb. the day before.

Three men rescued after boat sinks
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa DNR rescued three men from a capsized boat June 17.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 5 p.m. on June 17 reporting a capsized boat with three people in the water in Storm Lake.
The caller and an occupant of the boat told the dispatcher that the boat was west of the island near Lakeside.

Allegedly stole vehicle, at large for over a year
Storm Lake Police were on location Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Highway Street when they saw a vehicle that was wanted in connection with an investigation by the Cherokee Police Department.
Police saw a 2014 Subaru with Minnesota dealer registration parked at 120 Highway Street #2.

The Storm lake Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in solving two weekend vehicle thefts.
Around 10 a.m. Sunday morning a 2004 Pontiac Sedan was stolen from the Grace Lutheran Church parking lot at 1407 West Fifth St.
The vehicle was located Sunday night unoccupied in Crawford County between Deloit and Denison.
