Police arrested two Minnesota residents Friday for stealing $50 worth of merchandise from the Storm Lake Walmart and having methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia upon arrest.
At 10:14 p.m. Friday, police dispatched to the Storm Lake Walmart in reference to a theft were advised two patrons removed $50 in unpaid merchandise from the store. When confronted by store staff, the two suspects ran to a dark-colored SUV and fled.

Car seizure leads to drug charges against four
Storm Lake Police reported four additional arrests Friday after executing a search warrant on a car impounded in February.
Police report that a search warrant was executed on the vehicle which Nicholas Amundson, 21, of Spirit Lake and other occupants were stopped in on Feb. 29 and seized additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On Friday, police arrested Amundson, Cody Mowery of Spencer, Jalen Henningson of Alta and Tory Beger of Grand Junction.

Prices changed at Walmart, arrests pending this week
Police arrested two Storm Lake residents over a scheme to steal and misrepresent the price of items at Storm Lake Walmart.
On Nov. 3, police took a report at the Storm Lake Walmart Store of an alleged series of thefts and fraudulent practices conducted by a group of individuals at the Storm Lake store.
Storm Lake Police Chief Mark Prosser alleges that the group stole merchandise and switched price tags on items for lower prices in checkout.

Argument leads to arrest of two SL women
Police arrested two Storm Lake women Tuesday for engaging in an argument on West 7th Street.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 500 block of West 7th Street in reference to Kassandra Olamide, 27, and Laci Tornabane, 19, allegedly yelling and screaming at each other.
Police arrested both women and charged them both with disorderly conduct.
Both women were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond each.

SL child struck with phone, SL woman arrested
Police arrested a Storm Lake woman Friday for striking a child with a cell phone as a form of discipline.
At 8:30 a.m. Friday, the Iowa Department of Human Services notified police of an instance of abuse against a child.
Police and DHS staff responded to 538 ½ Russell St. and met with Akrihna Daniel, 38.

Duo arrested on weapons and drug charges
Police received information Friday morning of Duol Jock, 23, and Kiem Reat, 24, holding weapons and drug paraphernalia at a Seneca St. residence.
Police allege they found drug paraphernalia in Reat’s possession and seized it.
Later that morning, the Storm Lake Police Tactical Entry Team supported by the Buena Vista County Sheriffs’ Department, Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at the Seneca Street address.

Mejia jailed for forgery, drugs
A drunk-driving stop early Monday led to meth and forgery charges in Storm Lake.
At 1:54 a.m. Monday, an officer stopped Henry Romero-Rodriguez, 29, near the intersection of Railroad St. and Lake Ave. and found him to be intoxicated.
Police arrested Romero-Hernandez and charged him with OWI, no driver’s license and open container.
He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,600 bond.

Storm Lake Airport, ending the high-speed chase Friday night.
Damages were estimated at $7,500 on each vehicle.

Chase exceeded 100 mph on highway 110
A routine traffic stop led to a high-speed chase and crashes Friday night along the west side of Storm Lake.
Police stopped a vehicle on West Fifth St. near the intersection of Western Ave. for a traffic violation on Friday at 11:07 p.m.
