April 8, 1949 was a joyous day when twins Timothy and Anthony Bedel were born to Marian and Gontran “Doc” Bedel in Carroll. A gloom has settled upon us, as after a short illness, Tim unexpectedly passed away at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.

The Bedel family lived in Early until they moved to Storm Lake when Tim’s father opened Bedel’s Drive-in Pharmacy. Tim attended St. Mary’s and Storm Lake public schools.

Always the first one to give a friendly greeting and a firm pat on the back, Tim relished his many interactions with friends and community members. He remained a joy all his life and was well-known for his wonderful sense of humor and insightful wit.

His pleasures included riding his horse, driving golf carts, riding his motorcycle, collecting model cars and Batman memorabilia, and bowling with his friends. He enjoyed outings with his family and Genesis Development staff. The camaraderie of his fellow workers at Genesis and the care and friendship of Genesis staff members were valued by Tim.

Tim was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. He was an inspirational representative of a kind soul who endured pain without complaint, and who never entertained the trivial cares and concerns that many of us have.

Truly blessed to have had him in their lives, his family who mourn his passing include brothers: Patrick, Dan and Tony (Marilee) Bedel of Storm Lake; nephews: Anthony (fiancé, Maryel Ley) of San Francisco, Calif., and Jack of San Diego, Calif.; and niece: Elizabeth of Kansas City, Mo.

Welcoming him to his heavenly home are his parents Gontran and Marian, brother Michael, and nephew, Adam.
