Randall Stille

Randall Howard Stille was born on Oct. 22, 1963 in Sioux City to Howard and Mary Stille. He attended Alta High School and was in several activities. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, football, track, golf, band and 4-H. He excelled in these activities and earned awards in each, including homecoming king and Grand Champion Beef at the Buena Vista County Fair for five years in a row. Outside of these, he enjoyed building models and built and flew RC airplanes.

Randy graduated from Alta High School in 1982 and went on to attend college at Iowa State University in Ames, where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in computer science in 1986.  He worked in the tech industry for several years, and obtained his master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. He also spent time working in the healthcare industry and owned a company which focused on billing for physicians.

Randy loved being busy, both in his younger years and in his later years. He remained an avid golfer and sports fan throughout his life and would often discuss the latest game or sports news with those around him. He attended class reunions whenever he could and very much enjoyed catching up with his high school and college friends.

Randy was blessed with two beautiful children, Jolene and Sara. He was a very proud father and loved attending their soccer games and other activities. He also cherished the time and the moments he shared with each.

On Aug. 9, 2015, Randy married Darlene Fisher. The two later honeymooned in Italy, which was a memorable trip for both. Randy and Darlene spent the remainder of their time together enjoying life with friends, family and with each other.

Randy saw many of the important people in his life in the weeks before he left us. Family and friends visited, sent messages, and also sent cards and letters which were read to him. He passed away peacefully on Feb. 4, 2018 in the presence of his devoted and loving wife.

Randy is survived by his mother, Mary R. Stille of Storm Lake; his wife, Darlene Stille of Oldsmar, Fla.; his children, Jolene Stille and Sara Stille of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and his sisters: Karyn (Dan) Waites of Storm Lake; and Sharyn (Rob) Kitto of Richmond, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard E. Stille.
