Upscaled birdhouses are barns, castles

Mark Jackson’s birdhouses are creative and complex.

For the bird that has everything are these deluxe birdhouses made of old barn boards by Mark Jackson.

Mark, a 1983 Storm Lake High School graduate, remembers his dad Lyle making a nice big martin house when he was a kid. Pair that with his mom Barb’s (the former teacher) love of birds and some extra barn wood around and this builder went to town.

Mark was a mechanical engineer in Arizona for many years. He came back to Storm Lake two and a half years ago to help his dad, who has some health problems.
