Tornadoes make a difference in Des Moines for MLK Day

AVID students volunteer at Food Bank of Iowa, attend anti-trafficking event 

AVID Sophomores of Storm Lake High School traveled to Des Moines to volunteer at the Food Bank of Iowa Thursday, Jan. 18. In two hours, the students were able to sort, weigh and bag 16 palettes of potatoes equaling approximately 10,400 pounds. Those potatoes will be distributed to food pantries all over the State of Iowa and serve hundreds of families.
