Governor sees ‘great things’ for Iowa

Gov. Kim Reynolds Thursday told a 50-person crowd at Storm Lake Hy-Vee the state is “on the verge of great things.”

Reynolds, R-Osceola, opened her speech touting Future Ready Iowa, an initiative she and former Gov. Terry Branstad unveiled in 2014 to ensure 70% of Iowans have training beyond high school by 2025. Reynolds said she is discussing the program with business leaders, Regents schools and community colleges to help adult learners obtain certifications at little or no cost.
