Another woman stabbed in arm
A 24-year-old Storm Lake woman faces multiple charges after she reportedly stabbed one woman in the arm with a knife during a fight and then armed herself with a second knife and pursued a woman who had attempted to break up the fight.

Schulz finishes first year at U of I, graduates from high school next week
Members of the class of 2008 bid farewell to classmate Michael Schulz a year ago when he was one of 12 students accepted into a program at University of Iowa called National Academy of Arts, Science and Engineering. He would complete his senior year in Iowa City and do well, everyone figured, because he was always the smartest kid in the class.

Graduation dates, times
Schools throughout the area have scheduled commencement ceremonies this Sunday. Almost all will be held at 2 p.m. except for St. Mary’s, which will begin ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. and Buena Vista University, where graduation will begin at 2:30 p.m., both on May 18. Storm Lake High School’s graduation will be the following Sunday, May 25. For a complete list of area graduations, see the community calendar.

Crocker will doles out $4.8 million
Leaves gifts to church, libraries, environmental interests
Virginia Riley Crocker, who passed away last November at the age of 94, leaves a $4.8 million legacy to individuals and institutions in Buena Vista County and beyond.

Top student in Iowa City graduating from SLHS
Michael Schulz is a research assistant in this University of Iowa lab. He is the son of Rev. Steve and Susan Schulz of Storm Lake and is still technically a member of the SLHS class of 2008.
