Tornadoes score 12 runs in final 2 innings
The last two innings were wild for Storm Lake.
The Tornadoes scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie and then plated eight runs in the seventh to make it a rout as they beat Algona 16-4 in a nonconference game on Tuesday at Algona.

The Bridge of Storm Lake is holding its sixth annual Run For Our Future this Saturday to help raise funds for its Summer Youth Program.
The 2018 summer youth program includes a team of four AmeriCorps summer associates, seven RefugeeRISE AmeriCorps members and two Tyson summer interns serving at The Bridge with the
AmeriCorps-given goal of preventing summer learning loss.

Tanner Wauhob pitched a no-hitter to help the Storm Lake Whitecaps beat the Carroll Merchants 10-0 on Tuesday night at Memorial Field. It was the first no-hitter in the history of the Pioneer League.
Wauhob struck out six batters and walked one as the Whitecaps got back to the .500 mark at 6-6.
The Whitecaps next play at home on Saturday against the Carroll Merchants in a 7:05 p.m. start.

Seeding through digital tournament manager TrackWrestling is coming to the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s state traditional wrestling tournament in 2019.
In a unanimous decision on Monday, the Board of Control approved a wrestling advisory committee recommendation to build brackets with criteria that seeds the top eight wrestlers in each of the 14 weight classes across all three classifications.

Alex Snyder scattered six hits and struck out 14 batters, and Alta-Aurelia scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to come from behind and beat South Central Calhoun 3-2 in a Twin Lakes Conference game on Tuesday at Alta.
“This was a suspended game due to rain last week and we had about 31⁄2 innings left to play,” Alta-Aurelia coach Ryan Burkhart said. “We started the night out down 2-1 in the fourth and the boys found a way to score off of a really good pitcher. Each guy in the lineup found a way to contribute.”

Ridge View scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a three-run cushion, but the Raptors couldn’t hold that lead as West Monona answered with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to come away with a 7-6 win in a Western Valley Conference game on Tuesday at Onawa.
Ridge View scored a run in the third inning to tie the game, a run in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead and a run in the sixth to go ahead 3-2.
West Monona plated a run in the sixth and four in the seventh.

West Monona scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning after Ridge View plated two in the top half to take the lead as the Spartans came away with a 5-4 win in a Western Valley Conference game on Tuesday at Onawa.
Ridge View scored a run in the first inning and a run in the third to go ahead 2-1, but the Spartans scored a run in the fifth and one in the sixth to go up 3-2.
The Raptors had four hits in the game. Jacob Tokheim had an RBI single and scored three runs. Jaxon Franken, Colin Cuthrell and Karlo Weldon each added a single.

Chase Jessen collected two hits and drove in two runs at the plate and pitched a two-hitter on the mound to help give Sioux Central a 5-1 win over East Sac County in a Twin Lakes Conference game on Monday at Peterson.
The Rebels scored two runs in the fourth inning and three in the sixth. East Sac County broke up the shutout with a run in the seventh.
Sioux Central had six hits in the game. Jessen had a double and a single to lead the way. Caleb Rock, Zach Lundquist, Ben Hargens and Keaton Lindner each had a single.
