Clover Kids will be offered in Sac City, Odebolt, Wall Lake and Schaller starting in October. Clover Kids is a special 4-H program for Kindergarteners through second graders.
Youth will participate in activities uniquely suited for this age group, grow and learn in a non-competitive environment, participate in hands-on learning, and much more.

A free salmon fundraising supper will be held Sunday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. at Albert City Evangelical Covenant Church, 501 S. Second St., Albert City.
Featured speaker is Dennis Weidler, manager of KICY Radio in Nome, Alaska.
The menu for the evening is baked fresh Alaskan salmon, potato, veggie, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage.

Community blood drives were held in Alta and in Aurelia.
Alta had 16 donors and 18 units were collected. There were 18 registered donors.
Aurelia had 21 donors and 25 units were collectged.There were 25 registered donors.

Newell Public Library will have an after school movie, “James and the Giant Peach,” on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. Come watch the movie and get some popcorn.
Also, the fall story time will be held for ages two two five on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 2:15-2:45 p.m. Please sign up your child or call the library at 272-4334.

Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is offering three $500 scholarship opportunities for those looking to pursue education in a health-related field. Application deadline is March 31, 2014 and winners will be awarded in April.
Three categories are offered. Criteria for applicants are as follows:

Limxeeb Hunter Lee of Storm Lake has been accepted for admission for the 2013-14 academic year at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Limxeeb Hunter, child of Vamntxaurz Lee, plans to major in athletic training/physical therapy. He graduated from Storm Lake High School.

Schaller Midwest Babes of the Red Hat Society met at the church parking lot at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Group four drove. Ruth Borcherding was the hostess for the month.

Chyann Smith of Storm Lake has entered three head of beef cattle in the Junior AOB and Junior Market Steer shows division of the 40th annual North American International Livestock Exposition.
The NAILE is recognized as the world’s largest purebred livestock show with more than 26,000 entries and nearly $750,000 in prizes and awards. Scheduled for Nov. 9-22, the event takes place at Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.
