Newell-Fonda definitely brought its bats last Friday.
The Mustangs collected 15 hits and scored early and often in beating River Valley 13-1 in a Class 1A regional semifinal game at Fonda.
The Mustangs scored three runs in the first inning, two in the second, six in the third and two in the fourth to end the game by the 12-run mercy rule.
Olivia Larsen led the hit parade with a triple and two singles. She also scored three runs and drove in two runs for the winners.
