Tyler Hanks made two free throws in the final seconds, which turned out to be huge as Pocahontas Area’s Jace Davidson made a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it wasn’t enough as Alta-Aurelia held on for a 74-73 win over the Indians in a Class 2A district final game on Tuesday night at Tornado Fieldhouse.

Alta-Aurelia, now 18-4, plays No. 8 Sheldon (20-3) in a substate game on Saturday at Spirit Lake. The winner advances to the state tournament, which begins March 5 in Des Moines.
