Isaac Du’Von Swain

Isaac Du’Von Swain, 52, of Storm Lake has joined his Heavenly Father.

Isaac was born on Nov. 17, 1965, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Ill. He loved fish, his favorite was the Oscar fish, and he always had at least one fish tank as a kid. As a young man, everyone loved Isaac. He was funny, always had jokes and laughter to share. He graduated from Thornton Township High School in 1983 after lettering in both football and swimming. Following high school, Isaac joined the military in 1983.

Following his time in the army, Isaac worked in asbestos removal for Mars Construction, was employed by I.P.P. Litho Plate Company, American Eagle Airlines and Tyson Foods, which led him to move to Storm Lake in 2008.

The most important date for Isaac would have been after he met Sharlean Gilmore and together they had a son named Du’Von Isaac Swain on April 27, 1999. It seems Du’Von was Isaac’s pride and joy and you could not get Isaac to sit still when he watched Du’Von on the football field. Another incredibly proud moment was the day Du’Von graduated from Storm Lake High School last May.

Preceding Isaac in death were his parents, Alfrieda and Calvin Swain.

He is survived by his only son, Du’Von Isaac Swain of Fort Dodge; his brother Eric (Charmaine) Swain of Illinois; niece Erika Swain; his brother David Rogers of Illinois; Sharlean Gilmore of Chicago; and his village of friends in Storm Lake. He will be greatly missed.

Isaac’s memorial service will be at the Pentecostals of Storm Lake Church, 225 E. Sixth St., Storm Lake, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. Burial will take place in Illinois at a later date. An account for Du’Von’s college expenses has been set up at Central Bank of Storm Lake or can be sent to Du’Von Swain c/o Dan Robinson, 510 Angier Dr., Storm Lake, IA 50588.
