Alta-Aurelia sees season come to an end in loss to Woodbury Central

Woodbury Central couldn’t miss in the first half, shooting over 70 percent and scoring 44 points as the Wildcats went on to defeat Alta-Aurelia 71-52 in the first round of the Class 2A regional tournament last Saturday at Moville.

Woodbury Central jumped out to a 19-13 lead after the first quarter. It was 44-22 Wildcats at halftime and 58-35 entering the fourth period of play.

Erin Lockin led Alta-Aurelia with 19 points. Laney Stanton added 14, while Lily Peterson and Mary Barnes each tallied eight. Grace DePuma scored three points.
