No. 4 Cherokee too much for Alta-Aurelia

Cherokee, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, used a 26-8 spurt in the second quarter to take control as the Braves went on to defeat Cherokee 97-57 last Thursday at Cherokee.

Alta-Aurelia held a 20-19 lead after the first quarter, but Cherokee took a 45-28 lead at halftime. It was 70-46 heading into the fourth period.

Erin Lockin scored 16 points to lead Alta-Aurelia. Lily Peterson added 14 and Laney Stanton 12. Chloe Kruger tallied 10 points. Mary Barnes had three, and Sydney Stanton and Alaina Westphal one apiece.
