Alta-Aurelia fends off test from MVAO

There was no time to shake off the holiday break rust for Alta-Aurelia.

The Warriors were severely tested in the first game of 2018 as they held off Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute 56-48 last Thursday at Alta.

Alta-Aurelia held a 13-12 lead after the first quarter. It was 27-23 Warriors at halftime and 38-35 Alta-Aurelia heading into the final 8 minutes.

“It was a great battle for us right off of break,” Alta-Aurelia coach Evan Franzmeier said. “It was nice to have a majority of our roster healthy. MVAO/ COU gave us a good challenge out of the gate.”
