Annetta Bumann

Annetta M. Bumann, 90, of Storm Lake died Dec. 21, 2017 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in Holstein Cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.  

Annetta Marjorie Meyer was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Holstein, the daughter of Lena (Sieg) and William Meyer.

As an infant, she was baptized and later confirmed at United Methodist Church in Holstein.

Growing up, Annetta attended school in Cushing where she graduated from Cushing High School.

On Jan. 21, 1953, Annetta was united in marriage to Luverne Bumann at United Methodist Church in Holstein. Together they were blessed with four children: Steven, Karen, Janet and Kevin.

Annetta and Luverne enjoyed taking many bus trips after Luverne retired. Together, they travelled all over the United States visiting all states except Delaware, Hawaii and Alaska. Annetta treasured spending time in her garden and loved flowers. Saturday mornings were spent with family and friends enjoying coffee, breakfast and fellowship. In her spare time, you could find her reading a good book or adoring children of all ages. She truly loved children and they loved her back. Annetta treasured spending time with family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Steve (Deb) Bumann of Pierre, S.D.; Karen Bumann of Storm Lake; Janet Schneider of Storm Lake; Kevin (Dana) Bumann of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren: Aaron (Erin) Bumann; Michael (Kimmie) Bumann; Brian Bumann; Elizabeth (Chris) Larson; Emma, Joseph, Caleb and Bergen Bumann; great-grandchildren: Nolan and Sloane Larson and Calvin Bumann; sister, Aleene Johnson of Temple, Texas; nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and friends.

Annetta was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lena Meyer; husband, Luverne Bumann; son-in-law, Ray Schneider; and nine brothers and sisters.
