SL uses tough defense to get past Denison-Schleswig

Denison-Schleswig’s Cameron Webb jumps

over Storm Lake’s Lamar Mulgae during a

play in their game last Thursday at Denison.

With the way Storm Lake can play defense this year, the Tornadoes don’t have to score 75 points to win a basketball game.

Forty-six is good enough.

That’s what the Tornadoes scored last Thursday night and it was just enough to beat Denison-Schleswig 46-43 in a nonconference game played at Denison.

Denison-Schleswig led 9-5 after the first quarter, 21-20 at halftime and 31-30 heading into the fourth period.

Storm Lake led 36-35 midway through the fourth quarter when Cham Deng made four free throws to make it a 40-35 game.
