SL drops game to Denison-Schleswig

Denison-Schleswig out-scored Storm Lake 42-18 in the second half to pull away and hand the Tornadoes a 77-37 setback in a nonconference game last Thursday at Denison.

The Monarchs jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter. It was 35-19 at halftime and 53-27 after three periods of play.

“Hats off to Denison-Schleswig,” Storm Lake coach Jesse Nitchals said. “Great game plan and effort on their half. Our half was rough to say the least. We just didn’t have the energy to match their speed. They scored a majority of their points in transition.”
