Thanks to students for putting action to beliefs

Thank you for publishing the article about Alyssa Parker, the BVU cheerleader who bravely ‘took a knee’ at the Sept. 30 BV football game during the playing of the National Anthem to raise awareness of racial and social injustice.  As a retired professor from BVU I am very proud of her and all the other students who had the courage to translate their beliefs into actions.  I served as an infantry sergeant in Vietnam and people often tell me “Thanks for your service.”  Now it’s my turn.  Thanks to all of you courageous students for YOUR  service to our country.
