Torres serving as ISU peer mentor for 2017-18 academic year

Sergio Torres is helping Iowa State University students succeed by serving as a peer mentor for the Connect Four learning community, which is designed for students of color. Torres of Newell, is studying financial counseling and planning in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State.

Peer mentors help new students in their learning communities succeed by introducing them to campus resources and opportunities, helping them build relationships, modeling successful behavior, serving as a sounding board, and coordinating social and learning activities.
