Lucille Hendricks

Funeral services for Violet Lucille Hendricks, 96, of Storm Lake were Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at United Methodist Church, Storm Lake with Reverend Webb officiating. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Troy Jacobson, Travis Jacobson, Ben Hendricks, Barrin Hendricks, Mike King and Chris Boesen.

Lucille passed away Oct. 29, 2017.  Lucille was born on July 30, 1921 to Harry and Janie Mendenhall, Lytton.  She was born into a farming family and had seven siblings.  Lucille graduated from Lytton High School.

Lucille was united in marriage to Obe Hendricks on July 18, 1942 in El Paso, Texas. They were happily married for 50 years.

She worked hard all her life at keeping her house and garden pristine and working as a professional tailor for The House of Lairds in Storm Lake for over 25 years.

She was a member of United Methodist Church. She loved to travel, work beside her husband outside, and in the kitchen, and spend time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Ski (Dianne) Hendricks of Ankeny and Sue (Ron) Jacobson of Schaller. And grandchildren: Troy (Michelle) Jacobson, Travis (Shelly) Jacobson, Staci (Chris) Boesen, Tammy (Richard) Strenge, Ben (Abby) Hendricks and Chrissy (Mike) King; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all, especially her smile and great sense of humor.
