Pocahontas hospital to end hospice and community health services

In a somber action Thursday evening, trustees of Pocahontas Community Hospital voted to disband the healthcare facility’s home health, hospice and community health services.

“I don’t like this at all, but it’s with very guarded optimism that we vote to terminate hospice services and negotiate with UnityPoint at Home,” remarked trustee Gregg White. “Nobody’s in favor of this.”
