One of Storm Lake United’s most unique events happened Wednesday morning at Storm Lake’s new African Grocery Store, 223 E. Railroad St.

Beyond the ribbon cutting outside the store, visitors got to enjoy Ethiopian coffee made the traditional way starting from green African coffee beans.

Heaping plates of food featured spicy lamb, couscous cooked with greens, an African type of lentil, all to be scooped up with the rolled up spongy African bread called injera; no utensils to clean up later or throw away.
