Richard Lambert

Richard C. Lambert, 81, of Newell died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Sept. 10, at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in rural Storm Lake. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell was in charge of the arrangements.

Richard Charles Lambert was born Dec. 12, 1935 in Redwood Falls, Minn., the son of Sydney and Jennie (Johnson) Lambert.

As a young child, he was baptized at St. Anthony Catholic Church of Padua in Ely, Minn., where he later confirmed his faith in 1946.

Richard attended school at St. Cyril Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minn. He graduated in 1953 from Edison High School in Minneapolis. He continued his education at Minnesota Business School and DeVry Electronic School in Chicago.

Richard was united in marriage to Esther Gosh. To this marriage, two children were born, Charles and Melinda.

On Oct. 20, 1972, Richard was united in marriage to Marjorie Winders in Newell.

Richard was affiliated with Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. He also was a member of Moose Lodge in Storm Lake.

Throwing horseshoes and playing golf were a few of Richard’s favorite past times.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Charles (Kim) Clausen of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Melinda Shough (James) of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; Barbara J. Stroud of Newell; John Winders of Newell; grandchildren: Evan, Kristen, Keaton, Victoria, Caston; brother, Ron (Charlene) Lambert of Monticello, Minn.; sister, Mary Jo (Dick) Davis of Mesa, Ariz.; extended family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; and many aunts and uncles.
