Plane makes forced landing

A cropduster piloted by John Bartholomew of Bart’s Flying Services of Storm Lake made an emergency landing Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 11:01 a.m. in a field at the intersection of 90th Avenue and 560th St.

Bartholomew used a stretch of bare ground under which the Dakota Access Pipeline runs for his landing.

He suffered no injuries and there was no damage to the plane or to the field.

A mechanical problem was responsible for the landing. A new part was ordered and installed and the plane flew off.
