Next "Great Directors" flick at SL Library

The monthly Monday Matinee at the Storm Lake Public Library will be shown on Monday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m.

This month's selection is the ground breaking 1967 film that tackled the then controversial topic of interracial marriage. Starring Spencer Tracy in his last film, as well as Katherine Hepburn and Sidney Poitier, this movie was nominated for 10 Academy Awards. It went on to win the Best Original Screenplay award and Hepburn won Best Actress.

Directed by Stanley Kramer, the film is also notable as Tracy and Hepburn’s ninth and final on screen pairing.
