Kenne Steen

Kenne Steen, 72, of Schaller, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Cherokee Specialty Care.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. There will be no visitation or burial.

Kenne Steen was born April 2, 1945 in Ayrshire the son of Adrian and Aiylene (Baxter) Steen.

In his youth, he attended Ayrshire Consolidated School and graduated in 1963. Kenne then went on to serve in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 16, 1968, Kenne was united in marriage to Linda Rath. Together, they were blessed with two children, Dawn and Kenne. They were later divorced.

Kenne worked at Hygrade in Storm Lake and later moved to Schaller to work as an electrician- Kenne’s Service. Later, he worked as a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 2014.

Kenne was a friend of Bill W., member of the Schaller VFW and AMVETS. In his free time, he liked to play cards and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed taking trips to visit his brother, Bob, and his family in Oregon. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Kenne Steen of Schaller; brother, Robert (Kathi) Steen of Sherwood, Ore.; grandchildren: Steven (Kayle) Larson of Cedar Rapids; Brittany (Nick Martin) Larson of Cedar Rapids; and extended family and friends.

Kenne was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Aiylene; and his daughter, Dawn Larson.
