Minor injury in Aurelia accident

When the phrase “multiple injuries” was heard over the scanner Wednesday morning, it was hoped that the accident at the corner of Aurelia’s Main Street and Hwy. 7 wasn’t serious.

A spot of blood on the elbow of Gus Kai, 85, of Aurelia turned out to be the only injury. On his way to have coffee, he collided with Alta-Aurelia School Superintendent Lynn Evans. Both were driving pickups. “I’m fine,” said Evans, perfectly relaxed, between cell phone calls. His bumper sustained minor damage.
