SCHOOL BOARD NOTEBOOK: No SLHS donor wall

The Storm Lake School Board on Wednesday defeated a measure that would’ve commemorated large donors to the high school renovation on a ten foot by five-foot wall.

Supt. Carl Turner offered a plan that would’ve commemorated donors who donated over $1,000 after the start of the high school renovation project of 2013. The plan would’ve cost the district $7,000 and been placed outside the district’s new auditorium at Storm Lake High School.

Board member Dave Skibsted spearheaded the opposition to the wall shortly after Turner unveiled the final proposal.
