Buenafication Day provides 3,600 hours of service

An estimated 1,200 faculty, staff and students from Buena Vista University and Alta-Aurelia Community School District participated in BVU’s 104th annual Buenafication Day on May 2, contributing approximately 3,600 hours of community service.

On this day – which began in 1913 as “Hobo Day” – classes are not scheduled to allow students, faculty and staff the opportunity to volunteer their time to spruce up campus, help people in need, and do projects on properties of local public and non-profit organizations.
