St. Ed outscores Newell-Fonda in offensive shootout

Freshman Bryce Coppock scored a career-high 29 points and Jake Davis added a career-high 26, but it wasn’t enough as Fort Dodge St. Edmond got past Newell-Fonda 78-73 on Monday at Fort Dodge.

The Mustangs held a 15-12 lead after the first quarter and led 38-37 at halftime. The Gaels, however, took a 55-53 lead into the fourth quarter.

Reed Kruse tallied eight points for Newell-Fonda. Jimmy Becker added four, and Treyton Mahler and Jesse Haack each had three.
