Flower of 70 years of love planted in Providence Township

Here’s a relationship that has withstood the test of time. Jack and Dorothy Mernin of Newell have been married for 70 years.  The couple is holding off on the celebrating, though. The anniversary was Jan. 23 and Valentines Day will come and go next Tuesday.

Then on Saturday, Feb. 25 there will be a big open house at the Family Life Center at United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited.

But don’t bring gifts. “At this age we don’t need that,” joked Dorothy.
