Alta-Aurelia downs Woodbury Central for 16th straight win

Alta-Aurelia used a 19-4 spurt in the third quarter to take control as the Warriors won their school-record 16th game in a row with a 55-45 triumph over Woodbury Central on Monday at Alta.

The Warriors, now 17-1, trailed 13-12 after the first quarter. It was tied at 25-25 at halftime. Alta-Aurelia, however, took a 44-29 lead after the third period.

“This was our third game in four nights,” Alta-Aurelia coach Evan Franzmeier said. “Our kids came out sluggish to start. I liked the way we battled to close the first half with a 25-25 tie.
