Erin Gerke scored 27 points and Class 1A No. 6-ranked Newell-Fonda jumped out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter as the Mustangs went on to defeat Alta-Aurelia 62-30 in a Twin Lakes Conference game last Friday at Newell.

The Mustangs held a 32-15 lead at halftime. It was 52-23 after three periods of play.

Emily Archer scored 11 points for the Mustangs, now 16-3. Emma Stewart added eight, Olivia Larsen six and Megan Morenz five. Kylee Kennedy scored three points and Kate Christiansen two.
