SL girls can’t keep up with No. 1 Western

Western Christian, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, outscored Storm Lake 40-10 over the second and third quarters as the Wolfpack cruised to a 67-33 win in a Lakes Conference game last Friday at Hull.

The Wolfpack led 15-8 after the first quarter, 36-18 at halftime and 55-18 after the third period.

Rachel Bozonie led Storm Lake with seven points. Nya Malout added six points and Briana Soto five points and two steals. Tesilia Yanga tallied six points and four rebounds.

Ashtyn Veerbeek led Western Christian with 21 points. Erika Feenstra added 19.
