Jerome Kindwall, 74, of Storm Lake, formerly of Albert City, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at North Lake Manor in Storm Lake.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, Jan. 8 at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be at a later date in Fairfield Township Cemetery.
Jerome Kindwall was born Oct. 14, 1942 in Sioux City, the son of Carl and Elsie (Lindstrom) Kindwall.
He attended school in Albert City where he later graduated in 1960. Following high school graduation, Jerome attended Commercial Extension School of Commerce, then Omaha University, both of which were in Omaha.
On May 2, 1964, Jerome was united in marriage to Linda Anderson in Albert City. They were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Lisa.
Jerome was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Albert City. He was also a volunteer for the Albert City Fire Department and an emergency medical technician.
Jerome owned and operated the Albert City Mill (Golden Sun Feeds) for many years. During that time, he also sponsored the AC Mill men’s softball team which many enjoyed watching each summer for many years.
In his spare time, Jerome enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and camping. He always loved being near or on the water. He enjoyed watching all sports and listening to music. Everyone who knew Jerome, knew he loved his coffee. There was always a cup in his hand. Even though Jerome was a private person, his family always knew how much he loved and treasured them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Jeff (Becky) Kindwall of Spirit Lake; Lisa (Jeff) Grossnickle of Laurens; grandchildren: Derek (Kelsey) Kindwall of Spencer; Riley Kindwall of Spirit Lake; Regan (Dave) Doely of Stuart; Devin Grossnickle of Curlew; twin sister, Jonele Swift of Des Plaines, Ill.; extended family and many friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elsie Kindwall.
