SL water rate study approved
Bracing for increase
The Storm Lake City Council on Monday hired Veenstra and Kimm for $3,900 to conduct a study on whether water rates need to be changed over the next five years.
The council has already approved an ordinance that automatically raises sewer and water rates 3% for another three years. City Manager Jim Patrick said he wasn’t sure whether rates needed to be raised further. He said several capital items are planned, including a new water tower.
