Edwin Joel Buckendahl entered into rest on Oct. 8, 2016, at the age of 68.
A service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Enumclaw, Wash. with Father John Ludvik presiding.
Ed was born on Nov. 5, 1947 to Edwin E. and Vera M. (Peck) Buckendahl in Storm Lake. He graduated from Alta High School and served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Honolulu, HI, Ed met Carol Walczak and they were married on Jan. 23, 1971 in Kailua, HI. He worked for Boeing for over 30 years.
Ed was a devoted, kind hearted and beloved husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends and taking family vacations. His many interests included fishing, bird hunting, golfing, watching professional and junior rodeo, horses, airplanes and airshows. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Ed is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; three daughters: Terra Higginbotham (Mike), Trina Munsch (Chad), and Tricia Buckendahl; grandchildren: Eryn, Audrey, Hunter and Henry Higginbotham and Carson and Cameron Munsch; siblings residing in Iowa, Jerry Buckendahl, Jane Beckendorf and James W. Buckendahl (Melody); sister-in law, Arlene Petrusse; nieces and nephews: Buddy, David, Dan, Nancy, Dale, Doug, Ryan, Tyler, Jared, Jill, Christian, Trevor and Jennifer; and his many pets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Vera Buckendahl; mother-in-law, Stella Walczak; sister-in-law, Vernie Buckendahl; and brother-in-law, Larry Beckendorf.
