Pocahontas Area/L-M beats Algona, Clarion-Goldfield in triangular

Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon picked up a pair of wins in a nonconference triangular on Tuesday at Algona.

The Indians beat Clarion-Goldfield 25-22, 25-12. Faith Meyer went 24-for-24 in hitting with nine kills to lead the way. Jocelyn Johnson was 25-for-29 with seven kills and Grace Meyer 19-for-21 with four kills.

Payton Hjerleid finished with 20 set assists. Elle Ruffridge tallied eight digs and Grace Meyer three blocks for the winners.

Grace Meyer led the serving effort by going 13-for-13. Ruffridge and Kenzie Sullivan were each 10-for-10. Johnson was 6-for-6.
