Barbara A. Zevenbergen, 68, of Storm Lake, died on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 19, at Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta. Burial was in Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Barbara Ann Robinson, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Robinson, was born in Spencer on March 30, 1948. She lived her youth and received her education in Marathon, graduating with the class of 1966.
On July 12, 1969, Barb was united in marriage to Jerry Zevenbergen in Storm Lake. To this union, four children were born: Mark, Jason, Jill and Rachel. Barb and Jerry were blessed to have shared 47 years of marriage together in the Storm Lake community.
Barb was a dependable, hard-working and gracious employee having worked at Pamida, Four Sons, Page’s Bakery, the blue jean factory and most recently at Wal-Mart in Storm Lake.
Barb faithfully attended Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta. Special interest of Barb’s included reading, doing counted cross stitch, sewing and doing all kinds of crafts and ceramics.
Barb’s life is loved and celebrated by her family which include her husband, Jerry of Storm Lake; children: Mark Zevenbergen of Shakopee, Minn.; Jason Zevenbergen of Alta; Jill Zevenbergen (John McGrane) of Richmond, Va.; and Rachel (Nick) Hasenclever of Fort Madison; grandchildren: Jada, Micah, Henry, Owen and Ryker; mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Robinson of Everly; brothers, Bob Robinson and Larry Robinson, both of Marathon; Terry (Beverly) Robinson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Todd Robinson of Coppell, Tx.; and Chad Robinson of Sioux Rapids; sisters: Bonnie (Andrew) Hoyt of Perry; Becky Laidig (Tim Newbrough) of Lake Park; and Sarah Robinson (Shannon Threlkeld) of Bloomington, Ind.; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Robinson.
